I want to begin this review by being absolutely clear about one thing. I am playing Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3 on a standard PS4. It does state on the case that the game is PS4 Pro Enhanced. Playing the game on a PS4 Pro may very well impact your gaming experience enough that it differs from mine. However, if you are playing on a standard PS4 unit? Well….this is what you can expect!

Now, there’s really no way to sugar coat this! So, I am just going to be blunt right from the start! This game is HORRIBLE! Easily the worst game I have played this year, and quite possibly the worst game I have played in the last several years! What I am saying is that I absolutely hated this title! Which is a shame because I generally enjoy sniper/stealth games! This, however? Made me want to bash my own face into my TV just so I wouldn’t have to look at the game anymore.

So, what was so bad I can hear you asking! Everything! To begin with, the game just LOOKS horrible! I mean, I am normally not a big Graphics whore. I understand that games can be enjoyed while still lacking in the graphics department. This, however, was REALLY bad! I’ll be honest here! I have honestly never seen worse graphics on a PS4 game. At least not on games that attempted to have “Good graphics”, so that’s excluding indie pixel games.

You know what though? I could easily overlook the poor graphics in exchange for a good story or gameplay mechanics! I mean, graphics really aren’t that big of a deal! I play PS2 games still and think some of them look absolutely gorgeous. However, Ghost Warrior 3 didn’t offer anything even remotely enjoyable when it came to its story campaign. The story was uninspiring and just non-sensical and boring. The kind of story an 8-year-old might come up with while playing with his little green plastic army men.

If the poor story wasn’t bad enough, the game was also extremely laggy and unresponsive at times. The freezing issues mainly occur when driving a vehicle. You climb behind the wheel and head down the road. However forget about staying on the road, because the frames dip severely causing the gameplay to progress like a slideshow…and most of the time it will freeze all together! One minute you are zipping down the road, then the next you have plowed right into a tree. Why is it this bad? I don’t know! It’s not like it’s a graphically intensive game!

If that wasn’t bad enough…there’s the AI! Don’t get me started on the AI! Too late! I’ve already started!! The AI is severely glitched, which makes the game nearly impossible to play in a stealthy manner…which is kind of the point of being a sniper! How is it glitched? Well, when you are getting ready to take a shot? Don’t worry too much about hiding behind a rock or wall(Despite the fact that the tutorial tells you too)…It’s not needed! Because the enemy can spot you through cover! You can’t hide from their x-ray eyes! They will still shoot at you! Also, they can shoot through walls rocks or anything you are using for cover!

Also, you don’t need to bother using the suppressor. It has no benefit..since when you fire at an enemy..even with the suppressor on, every enemy on the entire map will still hear that shot ring out and zero in on your location! It’s as annoying as it is stupid!

In the end, the game is incredibly buggy and has been out for awhile! It definitely shouldn’t have been released yet! Save your money and buy a quality military stealth game lost Ghost Recon: Wildlands or Sniper 4…..

PlayStation Now is a subscription service that allows you to play streaming PlayStation games on your PS4 or PC. They have currently over 500 games available, and the subscription cost is about 20 bucks a month I think, but they have different packages. For instance, you can get 3 months for 40, or 12 months for 99. Anyway, it’s a cool service! Plus the games they offered were PS3 games, which weren’t available on the PS4! So, it was good for people who wanted to play their PS3 games, without switching consoles!

Every month they had some more games to the ever expanding library, and this month they added several more! These, however, were PS4 games! Now, maybe some people will enjoy this, but I think it’s just stupid! Look, giving us the ability to play PS4 games, on our PS4 is stupid! If I wanted these games I would have bought them and played them on my PS4! Most of the titles are older PS4 titles that have been on sale for 5 bucks or lower at one point or another. This literally only serves to bulk up your library count, and I don’t imagine it would benefit too many subscribers.

I mean look, if you really wanted to add another console to the list of playable games, why not add a console like the PS2 or original PlayStation? Then add some games that we actually can’t play on our PS4! I would kill to be able to play Chrono Trigger or the Xenosaga games on my PS4! Instead, you make PS4 games playable on my PS4…Games I always have had access to. wow.

See, I am not a fan of the Xbox One, but I applaud them for making so many of their older games backward compatible on their new system. They also do it for FREE for their fans and player base! That’s fantastic and awesome! PlayStation? They don’t give a damn! They charge you a subscription for their PS3 backward compatibility and then try and shovel games that were always available to you, down your throat as they take your monthly cash.

Look Sony, I love you guys and your system…but seriously! Get your heads out of your ass and start caring about the people who are slamming fistfuls of cash into your pockets, or they might just decide to slam it into Microsofts pocket!

I had actually considered getting an Xbox One for this title! There are a few other games I would have also probably played, but Quantum Break was the deciding factor, and now since it is on PC, I don’t have to buy an Xbone!!

So, is the game good? I found it incredibly enjoyable. Though sometimes confusing, but that’s to be expected with any Time Travel plot! It also has decent controls, and incredible graphics, though to get the FULL enjoyment and run the game on Ultra settings you will need a pretty top-notch PC. If you don’t have a beast of a computer, don’t fret! The games high graphics setting still looks amazingly good and to be honest the low graphics setting isn’t even too bad, though some of the signs are extremely blurry and aren’t readable due to the low resolution of the textures.

The game is divided into 5 acts. Throughout the game you will be called upon to make some choices which will impact the 22-minute live action “Episode”(Basically 22-minute live action cutscenes.) which follows each of the acts. You will also be presented with a screen comparing your choice with other players via a percentage rating, not unlike those found at the end of a telltale game episode.

One thing that disappointed me with this title is that the game seems to lack any replay value! Sure, there’s the choices, but those impact the cutscenes, not any of the gameplay! So, unless you are a hardcore completionist or a trophy hunter then the game really offers no incentive to delve back into the world of Quantum Break! However, since the game’s only 40 bucks(And I have seen it as low as 22) I guess that can be excused!

Scattered around the different acts, you will find small little nods to Alan Wake, another game developed by Remedy. I thought this was a nice touch for fans of the Alan Wake game series(Which I wasn’t, but that’s beside the point!). Apparently, the world of Alan Wake, and the world of Quantum Break are one in the same(It’s also a world where everyone uses only Microsoft products, and everyone drives Nissan cars)….That’s a scary world these guys live in!

Now, the game as I mentioned earlier was an Xbox One exclusive, but Microsoft has begun making their Xbox One titles available on PC too now! I think this is a dumb move, but if it saves me from buying another console, I’m not going to complain too much! So, the game was released on PC/Windows 10 through the Microsoft store. A few months later they also released it on the Steam Store(Which is where I picked it up!), so there are several different options for gamers to get it. It’s a pretty accessible title!

Is it worth getting? I would say it is definitely worth picking up! Though I would recommend getting it on Xbox One(If you have the console), that way you know it will run smoothly and look fantastic! Alternatively, I would grab it on Steam. Why Steam you ask? Well, steam has frequent sales! True I don’t often see Microsoft games go on sale via Steam, but Steam does allow you to return a game for a complete refund! This is great for this particular game, in case your system REALLY can’t handle it!

So, yeah! Pick it up, give it a shot! If you love time travel storylines, and love 3rd person story based adventures, then you will love this game! It’s worth checking out, and worth having in your library.

I am a huge Mass Effect fan! So, I was really looking forward to this game! I preordered it and anxiously waited for it to finally arrive at my door! When it finally did I dropped playing whatever it was that I was currently playing and stuck that bad boy into my PS4!

I’ll be honest! When I first began playing, I was incredibly disappointed! The character customization tools sucked! No matter how much time you invested into it, your character always looked like rubbish! Which is a shame, because the original trilogy had some incredibly fantastic customization tools, and you could make your character look EXACTLY how you envisioned him! In fact, many people made their character resemble celebrities because you could make your character look like anyone!

As if the poor customization wasn’t bad enough; the game was chock full of bugs! It had characters who were stuck in their default poser/modeling software pose, it had characters continue walking around during conversations, It had characters you couldn’t talk to unless you left and came back, it had freezing load screens and it even had characters animations freeze during conversations(But their omni-tool or weapons continued to move with the animation). Heck! One time, it even had one of my companions duplicate on board my ship! So, I had 2 Krogan sitting around in his room!

All in all though? While insanely buggy the game wasn’t “Broken”. Your progress could be hindered, but there are ways around these glitches..so nothing that I have encountered will prevent you from completing the game. Also, there has been at least 1 patch since I started playing. So, it’s very possible that some of these bugs have been patched up.

Bugs, and poor customization aside how is the game though? It’s actually pretty good! It starts off extremely slow, and a number of the planets you visit are annoying but the story is solid and enjoyable! There’s also plenty of side-quests to engage in, that will give you plenty to do aside from the main quest. I have spent countless hours in this game…and there’s still tons to do!

Bottom Line: The game could use a number of patches, and some polishing, but the gameplay its self and story are incredible! I believe the second Mass Effect is the best one in the original trilogy and this title? It is a close second! I highly recommend it to fans of the Mass Effect series, and fans of RPGs in general! Just be aware that there are annoying game glitches(and I can’t stress this enough…Ugly game characters)!

Horizon: Zero Dawn is a PS4 exclusive title that I very nearly skipped over! Sure, early trailers looked good, but let’s be honest here! Don’t most early trailers look much better than the final product? So, yeah, it looked good but the story as best as I could tell seemed to be lacking! Cavemen fighting dinosaur Robots just didn’t really appeal to me!

Anyway, I went ahead and picked it up. Turns out, that I am very glad I did! The game is amazing, and nothing like I expected it to be! I’ll try to explain the game in the best spoiler-free way possible!

First I want to make this clear! This game IS an action RPG! It’s not a third person shooter with RPG elements! It’s a massive game world, with towns, and experience points, and levels, and dungeons and tons of quests and even a Crafting system! I do admit that the crafting system leaves a lot to be desired, but it does what it needs to and keeps the game simple enough so that you aren’t completely lost if you come back to the game after taking a break from playing it.

The game takes place in the future, sometime after our downfall! Humanity has begun recovering and has become a primitive world filled with many tribal societies. Our cities have become ruins, and our everyday items are now ancient relics! Oh yeah, and apparently machines we left behind now prowl the world like savage wild creatures!

You play a young strong woman (Her age or Gender doesn’t really matter to me, but there are people out there who only play games with strong female lead characters..and other people who won’t play a game if the lead character is female….why? Because both groups are stupid…this info is provided for the stupid people who only care about that) who has grown up as an outcast from a tribe. She heads out into the world on a quest for redemption and self-discovery..and along the way she meets new people, helps those in needs, and fights a ton of crazy robot creatures!

Throughout the game, you will even be presented with moral choices that help shape your vision of the character…Is she a scrapper, a thinker or a pacifist? It all depends on how you play her! Basically, the game is a cross between several different games! It is a strong story and RPG world like Witcher 3, with some climbing and stealth elements that are similar to Assassin’s Creed and a hunting/crafting system that is very similar to FarCry! So, if you ever wondered what the love child of Witcher 3, Assasin’s Creed and FarCry 4 would be like? The answer is Horizon: Zero Dawn!

Long story short, it’s definitely one of the best games on the PS4 and is a must own title! Would I label it as a system seller? I would say it was! It’s good enough to make someone consider buying a PS4!

No man’s sky is now available for the PS4, and I have to admit it is everything I had hoped that it would be. However I do admit, when I first booted up the game, I was very frustrated! The game doesn’t really provide you much of a tutorial. You are just tossed onto an alien planet with a broken down star jalopy and told to fix your ship!

After you muck around on the planet, you do start to get an understanding of the game, and what seems like an impossible task becomes much easier. The main challenge is figuring out where you get the materials needed to repair your damaged parts!

Your challenges might be different, though, luckily I spawned on a very lovely planet. It was filled with plenty of flora and fauna and had a nice blue sky. It was basically like earth! You know, aside from the lack of humans! I named the world “New Eden” because I lack creativity! I have heard of some people spawning on toxic worlds, which I imagine might up the difficulty meter just a tad! Good luck if you find yourselves in that situation my fellow intrepid galactic explorer!

As I said, I find the game incredibly enjoyable and have spent several hours already exploring worlds and moons scattered across a few different star systems! I can see myself enjoying this game for several more hours too! However, I can also see me growing quite bored with the game after awhile as well! I know! Bored? Well, yes! The game looks like it could get boring! There’s just not a whole lot of variety really. I mean, sure! There’re billions upon billions of planets to explore, but after a bit, they do start to look repetitive. This applies to both the fauna and flora as well! You might come across something that looks like a rhino, then something that looks exactly like the rhino, except it’s smaller. Then something that looks like the rhino, except it has a different head, or it’s a different color.

All that aside, you will most likely get at least 10 hours of enjoyment out of the game, and honestly, that seems to be a good chunk of game time! I have played other games that are so much shorter, and less replay value than this! Overall? I would say No man’s sky is well worth your $60 bucks! Unfortunately, if you are a PC gamer(You know, ‘The Master Race’) you have to wait a couple more extra days to play. It releases on PC on the 12th, and will be available on both Steam as well as GOG!

Uncharted4I’m just going to cut right to the chase! Uncharted 4 is incredible! It’s easily the best game of the franchise and in my opinion it’s the best game currently out on the PS4! In fact, I would go so far as to say that Uncharted 4 is the best game I have ever played! Now, granted that might change next week when Home Front Revolution is released, but at the time of this writing, it is the best game I have ever played!

The first thing you need to know, is that this is supposedly the final chapter of the Uncharted series. I say supposedly, because franchises have a habit of continuing past their final chapter(I’m looking at you Mass Effect!). Since it’s the final chapter, I guess Naughty Dog Games wanted to take the series out in style! The brought back all our favorite characters like Sully, Nate and Elena, then went and introduced a few more!

In terms of gameplay, it doesn’t really stray from the tried and true Uncharted formula. So, expect to be climbing cliffs, jumping across rooftops, finding collectibles and stumbling through tombs and ruins in order to achieve your goal. It however did add one new gameplay mechanic, and that’s an all-purpose grappling hook that will allow you to swing across chasms, jump punch enemies, pull items and reach hard to get places. It’s so handy that you will wonder how Nate got around without one before now!

The game really does have everything! On top of all that, there’s optional dialogs which give the game almost an RPG like feel to it, and keeps the gamer looking around for those “Optional dialog” moments. They could be anything from a companion with a speech bubble just wanting to chit-chat, to some interactive chairs that lead to a brief heart to heart discussion. Then, there’s also that kinda cool easter egg!

Vehicles are also now a major part of the game! Past entries in the Uncharted series had vehicles, but they never played as big a role before as they do now! Also, the driving segments are much more enjoyable than they were in Uncharted, Uncharted 2 and Uncharted 3..Although Uncharted 3 had horses! I miss horses!

If you are curious how much time you should set aside to play this masterpiece? Well, the game is fairly long! It took about 14/15 hours of gameplay to complete, but I spent a lot of time hunting down collectible treasures. Still, it took me longer to finish it, than it did to complete any of the other games in the series. Your time frame maybe less, or even longer, but that’s a general idea of the length of the campaign. Plus, once you finish the campaign, you have a Multi-Player mode that you can participate in! Be a hero, or a villain, and swing around maps collecting treasures and blowing up your enemies! Use your treasures to hire sidekicks, and other nifty upgrades! I have only lightly dabbled in the MP mode, since I am more of a single-player/story-mode gamer, but from what I have seen the MP mode is very well done, though I did encounter a bug which freezes the game during the introduction/tutorial of the MP mode.

When all is said and done, this really is a must own for the PS4!
