mohpaI’ve told you before how Gaming is a pretty cheap hobby! Between all the excellent sales and bundles, it costs almost nothing, and if you really wanted to, you could grab only freebies and would literally cost you nothing! Let’s be honest, free is always good! Which is why I thought I would let you all know about this fantastic freebie offer! It’s only for a limited time, so be sure and grab it while it’s available.

The game is the classic WWII FPS “Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault” from EA games. and it can be yours for absolutely nothing! No tricks and no gimmicks…As long as you claim it before they remove it as a freebie, it’s yours! Now the game DOES require Origin, which is basically like EAs version of steam.

Instructions on Claiming: First go here! Once there,  click the orange ‘Download Now Free’ button located on the right hand side of the screen. At this point you will need to log into your Origin account (or create an Origin account if you don’t already have one). Then just follow the on-screen instructions and the game is yours to keep(Even after the limited time freebie giveaway ends).

This giveaway could be available for days, weeks or even a few months. You never can tell with EA, so grab it as quickly as possible. It was available free at the time of this writing however.

In my opinion Medal of Honor and Battlefield are the two best wartime FPS franchises on the market, with Call of Duty a distant third, so it REALLY is worth grabbing! Anyway, happy gaming!

marvel comics logo

Marvel comics has an online service called Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited. The idea is great, and in fact I used to subscribe to it. Basically, for one low price(Either monthly or yearly, choice is up to you) you get access to a boat-load of digital comics. Including in some cases, entire series of comics from start to finish. We aren’t talking a small selection here people, we are talking a giant comic book library!

As I said, the idea is great, and if it fits your needs, then it really is a great deal! I only have two complaints. The first being, that this service has been around for quite a while, yet they don’t offer any type of free trial. Sure, on occasion they will have a limited time promo code for a free month stuck somewhere, or a free month included in some marvel product(game/movie/book/), but there’s no “REAL” free trial, for people who want to subscribe.

While there aren’t any real free trials, there are many free readable comics, and all comics do have the option to “Sample”, so you aren’t really going into it blind. It won’t drive away customers who don’t buy what they can’t test, because there are those free issues, and sample. Still, it’s nice to offer subscribers a little incentive.

Another issue is, that the service can only be used on your computer/laptop. This to me is an inconvenience, since I really don’t like the idea of having to sit at my computer desk chair, slouched over a monitor just to read a comic. I simply won’t do it! Why can’t they have an Android app to read this? It makes sense! I would happily re-subscribe, if I could lean back in my recliner, or relax in bed with my tablet in hand, and read through some issues while relaxing! Almost like I had the comic book there with me!

Sure, Marvel does have an Android app, but it’s only for their digital comic purchases, it won’t work on their unlimited service, despite the fact that the 2 services work almost exactly the same! Which is great if you purchase comics digitally, I prefer buying the actual issue myself, since those have some chance of possibly gaining some kind of value if they are taken care of and treated well, where as a digital copy just won’t!

The service sadly won’t even run on a PS3 browser, so you can at least read from your couch. You are literally tied to your computer to enjoy the service, and normally that’s fine for most internet services. Most services are best used at your computer, however reading a comic book? I just don’t believe that’s the best way to read.

So, unfortunately I am going to pass on re-subscribing to this, however if for some reason it does fit your needs, and nothing I mentioned here bothers you, then you really should get this service then! Great price, huge comic library, and new comics added all the damn time!

Netflix Streaming is a great way to watch whole seasons of your favorite shows, or discover new favorites. So, if you are looking for some of the best shows currently playing on Netflix Streaming, then consider viewing these 11 titles.

1) Lost – Plane crashes, survivors survive and try to figure out why all this weird stuff keeps happening. It’s actually much better than I describe it, but in case you haven’t seen it, I don’t want to give anything away. Suffice it to say, the show is full of twists and curves that will leave you constantly thinking.

2) Battlestar Galactica – Am I talking about the new series or the older classic? Both!

3) Firefly – A very short-lived Sci-Fi series. Short lived however doesn’t mean it wasn’t great! It was great! In fact it was so great, they made the movie Serenity, which takes place after the events of the series.

4) Buffy The Vampire SlayerSarah Michelle Geller stars in the campy TV version of Buffy The Vampire slayer. Now, I am not sure if the series picks up after the movie, or if the events in the movie ever happened. I don’t believe the show is really that clear on the point. However, it’s a good show and definitely worth watching if you haven’t already.

5) The Highlander – In the end there can be only one! It’s a show about immortals who go around trying to chop each others heads off. Whats not to love?

6) Swamp People – A reality series that follow people as they go out into the swamps and hunt gators, and other swamp dwelling creatures, but mostly just gators.

7) Destination Truth – A reality show, that follows Josh Gates, as he travels the globe looking for monsters. Everything from BigFoot to Nahuelito.

8) X-Files – A non-reality show, that follows FBI agents, Mulder and Scully as they go looking for monsters. Great show, that was insanely popular in my youth, however it’s a series I never got to see when it originally aired. Now I have a chance to see it! Thanks Netflix!

9) MacGyver – He hates guns. He makes anything you can think of using gum, safety-pin, duct tape and a Swiss army knife. He works for the phoenix foundation. What is it? I don’t know, the shows not real clear on that. What it does though, is solve other Peoples problems, apparently with only creative uses of toilet paper, pencils and a handful of powdered soap.

10) Star Trek – Which one? ALL of them! The original series, The next generation, Enterprise, Deep Space 9, Voyager and even the animated series! Ever missed a trek series? Now’s the time to fix that!

11) The Walking Dead – It’s a show about Zombies. Need I say more?!

Hand I'm bored

Image via Wikipedia

The internet if nothing else, is a great way to pass time when you are bored. With sites like Mindjolt, Crackle, Twitter, TMZ and of course visiting random blogs(Which, if I might add, is what 90% of my readerbase is from! Hello random blog reader!).

My personal choices for time killing websites though is Wikipedia, YouTube, Facebook, Second Life and Google Street view.

Google Street view you ask? Yes! What is it I do on there? Well, that varies. Most of the time I will pick some random location from somewhere around the world, then use google street view to explore it! Other times I will stroll around areas I used to live. Sometimes, it’s a good time killer, other times you stumble across things like this!

Now, Google has a habit of removing things from street view, when something get’s mentioned on the interwebs, so in case you go there, and see a black screen or see the side of a building, I will also include a picture of how it looks at the time of this writing.

History of video game consoles (sixth generation)

Image via Wikipedia was a webservice that allowed you to create an Xbox 360 Gamercard, to proudly display on your website or blog. I used it, as did many other gaming bloggers. Unfortunately, the website shut it’s doors, and left many without a gamercard badge to show of on their website.

However, after looking around the web, I found a service that fits me perfetly, and it might fit you as well. The website is called ZaamIT, and too, allows you to create a gamercard for your blog! In fact, I am using it now.

True, the styles are limited, but they are unique, and I believe that there is a style that will fit most everyone! So, if you are one of the people who found yourself out in the cold, you should at least check this service out. You might find yourself surprised.

Dana Dane 4 Ever

Image via Wikipedia

There was a time, when Rap and Hip-Hop was enjoyable to me. That was before it became filled with the profanity and violence that exist in the genre today. We’re talking back when DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince were cranking out tunes about how your parents just don’t understand.

Ok, granted his tunage was mainly aimed for the younger people, but at least the lyrics were clean and enjoyable. That’s more than I can say about music from any genre that kids listen to today.

God, I never thought I would think something like that. It’s proof right there, that I am in fact getting old.

Anyway, I got to thinking about hip-hop from my past, and remembered an artist who went by the name Dana Dane. He performed a few popular songs at the time, however the two that stick out in my mind the most, is Nightmares of the night, and Cinderfella.

So, since I was thinking about him, I got to wondering just what he was up to now, and I decided to Google him. The first site that popped up was of course his site, of course. So, I clicked to head on over to his site, and was treated to hm actually singing out his URL.

This got me wondering, How cool would it be to have my domain URL sung?! Seriously, I wonder how much Dana Dane would charge to sing “Shaide blog dot com”. That would kick ass! That right there, is a brilliant business idea!
