Big Brother is one of my television guilty pleasures. It comes on every year, and is one of the few positives about summer!  The house guests this year however left a lot to be desired. They just weren’t interesting, with the exception of Willie. Which is unfortunate, since he’s now out of the house. He wasn’t even voted out, he was ejected from the BB14 house because of a physical confrontation, that resulted in Willies head striking the head of Joe(another house guest).

It’s a shame that happened, because I really had Willie pegged as winning that game. I don’t even think he would have went home that week. I mean, if Evel Dick Donato could make it while acting like a complete ass, I see no reason why Willie couldn’t have pulled it off. If I was in the house, I would have voted to keep Willie in the house for as long as possible, because as long as he was in the house, the target would be off my back.

Anyway, it seems as if Willie was the only houseguest in there actually playing the game, and now the game and show has gotten boring. Not sure I will continue watching this season, but at least I still have The Glass House to keep me occupied!

For the past few months I have been on a diet. Not any particular type of diet, in fact it’s more of a diet I created myself. Other established diets of the past never seem to work for me, and this one actually does seem to be working, and it’s not difficult to follow.

The reason for my diet is my own personal decision. I didn’t start it for health reasons, and I didn’t start it to impress other people. In fact, I am quite healthy and when it comes to what others think, I could care less.

No, the main reason was because I woke up one day and thought to myself. “Self, I am bored. Let’s do something cool, and invent a diet and see how much weight we can lose!” After that, the diet was on, and has been for a few months now, and it seems to be going along quite swimmingly. In fact, in the 2 months I have been on it, I have lost almost 50 pounds, which is nothing to sneeze at!

Now, I don’t have any plans on becoming skinny. I was born big-boned, so will always be large to an extent. No complaints here! I prefer being large. I don’t want to be skinny. No offence to skinny people, but sometimes super think folk weird me out. No, I enjoy being large. I like that it makes me seem somewhat intimidating. There’s also the fact, that I would look freakishly weird skinny and being 6″7′.

So, then if I don’t want to become skinny, what’s my goal you ask? Glad you asked! I don’t have one! I plan on just dieting until I get bored with the diet. However, I don’t see the boredom ending anytime soon. I mean, when I do start to get bored, I just weigh myself, see how much I have lost, and seeing weight loss, is always an incentive to keep you going. It’s impossible not to get excited when you see you are a pound less than the last time you weighed.

There’s good and bad about weight loss.

Good being:
Smaller pants sizes boosts enthusiasm.
Lower body weight means summer feels cooler than it is.

Bad Being:
Smaller pants sizes means lots of extra cash having to get spent on new clothes.
Lower body weight means Winter is going to feel much colder than it is.

However, when all is said and done, the diets fun, and a good time killer, and I am going to continue for quite a while. Hell, maybe after I am done, I can write a diet book and sell it, and get on an episode of Dr. Drew!

In my last blog entry, I gave a Retro Review of Spider-man: The Game, in honor of the recently released movie. In keeping with that id, I decided to dig into the crate-o-games yet again, and pull out another PS2 classic based on your favorite web-head: Ultimate Spider-Man!

To begin with, this game has aged REALLY well. The game is 7 years old, and plays really well!

One of the first things you will notice about the game, is the graphics. They are amazing! However, to be honest, Cell shaded graphics are always going to look amazing. Cell shaded games from 7 years ago, are going to look as good as cell shaded games from today. Still, the Cell Shading style fits well with the game, since it’s based on a comic series, and not any type of movie.

So, since I was impressed with the graphics, I tackled the controls. To my surprise, the controls were actually quite responsive. Sure, it wasn’t perfect, and could definitely use a little refining, but compared to the controls in Spider-Man: The game, they were a work of art. Sure, it needed some work, but I was able to play it with minimal frustration toward the controls.

The sound too was great! Everything from the voice acting to the sound effects helped add the comic feel to the game experience.

One thing that was nice, was the fact that your webs had to catch onto buildings in order to swing. This might not seem like a big thing in todays age, but the Spider-man games were notorious for just letting your webs stick to the clouds. You could swing all over the city, even if you were higher than any of the other buildings in the vicinity.

When all is said and done, this game is a treasure! It’s aged well, and upon replaying it, was actually better than I remembered it being! Not bad for a 7 year old game

Is he strong? Listen bud, he's got radioactive blood! With the recent release of the Amazing Spider-Man movie, and the subsequent release of its video-game Tie-in, I decided to dig into my old game chest. This time around I dusted off an old Classic, Spider-Man: The Game. It’s based on the movie with Tobey Maguire.

When I originally played this game, I remember thinking how badly it sucked, and how horrible the controls were. However, over time I told myself, how I must have been mistaken. How could the game be as bad as I remember it, when everyone in the gaming community loved this game to pieces! Clearly, I was mistaken! Years have passed, and I never broke it out again, until now!

First, let me just say, that for an early PS2 game release, the graphics are astounding! It’s has lens flares, and isn’t even very choppy, which is unusual for a PS2 game as well. Overall, in terms of graphics, this game was incredible! True, the models weren’t that great, but they were passable.

The sound was great! How could it not be? Tobey Maguire and Willem Dafoe lend their voice talents to the game, to help give it that authentic spidey movie feel. Then, as if that wasn’t enough, they tossed in Bruce Campbell as the Narrator/tour guide, just to bump the game up to cult status. The music and sound effects were brilliant, and quite realistic. However, it was slightly dated, but again, I can’t stress this enough: It’s from the PS2 and is 10 years old!

That was the good stuff.

The controls were just as bad as I remember. I mean horrible! However, it should be noted, that most games released during that video game era had horrible controls. Still, this is worse than most of those. It could have been a much smoother experience, especially since the PS2 controller is virtually identical to the PS3 controller. I see no reason, why they couldn’t take the time to make a smooth control scheme like games have today!

In terms of difficulty, it wasn’t as hard as I remember it being, however the game is by no means a cakewalk. It is difficult, and at time frustratingly so, although I feel a lot of that has to do with the controls. I can’t begin to tell you how many times I would find myself stuck to a wall, clinging there, while being shot at.

Still, the game has some level of fun factor, especially if you are an avid spidey fan, and with the new spider-man reboot being out, it might be fun to flash back to the original.

heat miser!

Summer is here with a vengeance, and for once the desert in  which I dwell isn’t getting the fuzzy end of the lollipop. Compared to previous years, this year has been cool. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still hot as hell, and probably hotter than most places where they are complaining about high heats, but it’s cooler than the summers we are used to. The rest of the country? They are used to cool summers, so a sudden burst of warm air is misery for them, which is completely understandable.

See? This heat that America has been punched in the face with? That’s why I hate summer! I have to deal with that heat year after year! It’s not that I hate the summer, I just really hate the heat! I hate the heat, and the misery that it puts everyone through! No good thing ever came from insane amounts of heat!

This year though? While I still don’t like it, I don’t really hate it either. Because we have had a mild summer here, I have gone from pure hate, to just a generally high dislike. Keep in mind, that could change! Especially if/when the heat decides to come back here and torture us desert folk some more before it leaves.

Well, today is off to a lovely start! Shortly after today officially started(I.E. A little after Midnight), I logged into my twitter account, only to find that it had been hacked! Seriously? People hack twitter accounts? That’s the stupidest thing I have ever heard of in my life.

Anyway, after my account was hacked, it was used to spam the hell out of my followers, and pretty much everyone. Not exactly sure what they were spamming, since I sure as hell wasn’t going to click one of those links. Looked to be mainly “Easy Cash” scam links, with a few “Porn” links thrown in, just because.

I have regained my twitter account though, so that’s good. However, the spammers ended up causing the majority of my followers to quit following me. Not only that, but many of the people I had been following kicked me and banned me from following them.

So, yeah..wonderful start to a day!

If you are a regular reader to this blog, then you no doubt are fully aware that I hate Summer. I have mentioned this dislike several times on this blog in the past. Summer is, in my opinion the worst season ever! There’s more fires than normal, Pets cooking inside of cars cause their dumbass owner felt it was fine to leave them in a car with the window rolled up and last, but not least, More smelly sweaty dudes wandering the street.

There’s more, but those are the biggies!

This summer however isn’t too bad, at least here in the desert. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still hot as hell, but compared to past summers, It’s cool. I understand everywhere else has gotten increased heat though, which sucks, and you have my sympathy!

Now, I know summer just technically started, so how can I say it’s been cool you ask? Well, the thing about the desert is, we usually only have 2 seasons. Winter and Summer. When the rest of America is enjoying the crisp coolness of Spring, we are sweltering in 100 degree summer weather. This year however was different! We had a spring! I must say, I kind of liked it!

I still hate summer though! Nothing will ever change that. Heat and I just do not get along!
