[Animal Crossing Game Case]As I have mentioned before in previous blog entries, Recently I have been playing older game titles on older game systems. Although those older games have all been PS2 titles and original Xbox games. However, I decided to go and play a Nintendo Game Cube title. One that I hadn’t played in what seems like forever, but one that I used to love back in the day. That title, was none other than Animal Crossing!

I’m sure you’ve heard of it. At least I hope so, because it actually REALLY is a video game classic, and for the life of me I can’t figure out a way to really describe it to you. I suppose I could say it’s a video social themed activity game, but really it’s so much more than that.

Anyway, I logged into the game and the town was covered in weeds, and everyone was pretty snotty to me, because I hadn’t been around in 84 months. How do I know this? Simple, the animals who lived there had to remind me several dozen times that I was a horrible friend and haven’t been by to see them in 84 months! That’s a lot of months!

Anyway, I played it for a good several hours, then decided to take a break and slip into some modern gaming, and so I popped in Rainbow Six: Vegas 2 into the 360, and played that too for a few hours, until I ended up falling asleep with gamepad in hand.

That night I had a really odd dream! I dreamt that I was leader of an Anti-Terrorist unit, and we were being deployed to Los Angeles to handle a terrorist situation. However I had been assigned a new rookie member. Turns out the rookie is a giant animated Panda bear named Bubby. See? Very odd! Apparently those two games decided to get together in my subconscious and create something very odd. Hey, it worked for peanut butter and chocolate right? Why not Animal Crossing and Rainbow Six?!
