The Spare Computer

Well, my main computer has been having issues, so I took it over to a friend of mine who knows a bit about PCs and the likes, and he’s going to take a look at it for me, and see if he can fix it. It sounds like it might just be a fan, in which case it will be pretty cheap to get fixed up, so I am not too worried at this stage.

Until it’s fixed however I am having to use my Spare emergency computer that I keep tucked away in case my main computer fries, or it needs to get fixed or something similar to what occured. Now, the spare computer isn’t TOO bad. I have seen worse. Hell, I have used worse. It however isn’t that great either, but it gets the job done. It allows my to run skype,  So I can talk to my bubby, It allows me to run my browser so I can surf the net and post blog entries and it will even allow me to run SOME of my games(Unfortunately all my MMORPGs run too slow on the system to play properly).

I think the main problem with this spare computer isn’t that it’s too slow, but it’s that the O/S that it is running on is the dreaded Vista. I hate Vista, I really do. I think it’s the WORST Windows operating system that has ever been released. It’s garbage really, and the only reason it’s on this computer is because I bought this pre-built system when my main computer went on the fritz last time…and The spare computer I bought came with Vista pre-installed on it.

Now I sit here eagerly waiting my main computers triumphant return! In the mean time I am quite content with this spare computer. It may not be ultra-fast, but it gets the important things done, and I love it for that! 😀

My friend bout a new computer, and it was an Emachines, oh god, and it came with Vista pre-installed, the home basic version I think.

Anyway, it was ungodly slow, so I wiped it, put on a new Windows XP Pro SP2 edition, and it flies!

There is a reason Dell allows its customers to downgrade their PC from Vista to XP. 🙂

Yea, the computer I got was an Acer, and to have Win XP installed on the system, instead of vista was considered an “Upgrade” oddly enough, and was about another 200 bucks extra…So, I kept vista, since it was a newer OS….Yea, Im a moron…lol
